Andruw Jones's dive into second at Utley

I can't stand listening to Kruk on ESPN when he keeps saying that Jones intentionally tried to hurt Utley when he grabbed his leg making Utley's knee buckle. I think he realized that he messed up by not sliding into Utley to break up the DP possibility and got desparate by reaching out to interfere Utley's attempt to throw to first. What do u think?

While I don't think he was out to hurt him. Using his hands was just plain out stupid. Sliding into a guy is acceptable in the game. But grabbing a guy when he is already going to be off balance from expecting the slide is inviting injury.

I would almost force him to sit a little while (2-3 games) just for not thinking. Especially if no action is taken, some of the Philly players could keep a grudge. That is when someone could intentionally get hurt.

He didn't try to hurt him - Kruk is an idiot - but it wasn't legal and the umps called the double play (correctly since AJ did try and interfere with Utley). Agree it wasn't premeditated.
