Trade McGowan to Kansas City this off season!

Postby flying27 » Thu Aug 10, 2006 1:23 pm

Mark James Grudzielanek should be traded for Dustin McGowan this off season. That way the Jays wont lose McGowan for nothing on waivers in April, and they get a middle infielder in return with alot of experience, he is almost 37 and has been in the majors along time. He fulfills the Jays need for another middle infielder and you give up nothing for it as well.

I'd rather have Fernando Tatis.

Mark G. seriously? The only good thing that he has going for him is that he insulted all Canadian francophones when he played with the Expos. Other than that he is a waste of a roster space.

What Marc G. brings to the team is alot of experience, he has been in the majors so long he would bring an intangible leadership quality. Also other then his very low HRs his numbers both offensively and defenisvely are not that bad, better then J. Mac probably would put out over a full year.

Who would be better to trade away McGowan for considering the teams needs?

:-? hmmm...perhaps Julio Franco would be a better acquisition.

I don't know. Maybe it's me but I'm sure we can do better than Grudz. I'm not a big fan.

Well JP should be talking to interested teams now to prepare for the off season. He must know he has to trade McGowan in the off season to avoid losing him on waivers so he should be setting the stage now if he can. Can anybody think of some good trade ideas for McGowan?

I don't know what McGowan's value on the market really is but, i think he is pretty valueable, i live in Toronto, and from what i hear on the radio everyday, McGowan has potential to become a number one rotation guy. I would think that he is worth more than Marc G.

Don't know but that's my opinion

So who do you think the Jays should look to trade McGowan to and for this off season?

Mcgowan

Postby gojays9293 » Mon Oct 09, 2006 6:52 pm

No way...Mcgowan is too good to be traded for a 37 year old who has his best baseball way behind him, no way. Maybe if you were going to try for say a Marcus Giles or someone like that from Atlanta. Mcgowan still has too much of an upside and has too much invested in him. They need to get him some regular innings and let him perform at the big league level.
