Yeah, I've seen this. My wife actually adheres to many of these. We understand our 'roles', as it's so loosely put, and we each take pride and responsibility for taking care of those. For those of you who own a home, you know how much maintenance goes into its maintenance and upkeep. I would never suggest that she mow the lawn, clean the gutters, fix the toilet, change the oil, trim the hedges, clean the garage, etc. And in turn, I am not expected to do the dishes, wash the clothes, prepare meals, vacuum the house, etc. It's nice to get off of work and be happy to come home.
My mother in law is like that and it gets a bit oppressive after a while. She is 70 something and is from Korea and I am not sure if it's a 'cultural' thing or if it's just her but it does get on my nerves after a while. Fortunately, I outweigh her by about 100 lbs so when I box her out in the lane to wash the dishes (does not believe in using dishwashers either....), she can't compete w/ my 'inside game'...
