I just read the other day that Joe Saunders is a good pickup. The article didn't mention anything else about why or in what league he'd be good. I'm in a 9 person roto non-keeper league and my Liriano is going down. I was going to go after Garza but does anyone have information on Saunders?
Garza wouldn't be a bad pick up, although he isn't available in some leagues (not qualified in yahoo for instance).
I believe they might have been referencing the fact that Saunders is a young pitcher that has had early success. He is 3-0 with an ERA under 1.50. Not bad!!!
Had fantastic ERA #s in the mnors and the show so far, bound to rise some. He's a Jamie Moyer crafty left type, but with a better fastball. He's not a human highlight reel kind of pitcher, never looks dominate, but he just gets a lot of contact outs and the occasional K and doesn't walk many... Keep that up, and more often than not you'll win.
What about after tonight?
6 IN, 6 Hits, 2 BB, 2 ER, 4 K's.
Not to mention, against the Yankees!!!
Think I'm picking him up and letting someone else have garza

I picked up Saunders a few days ago. Took a chance on him tonight and I got the win
for some reason, jamie moyer is not the comparison i want to hear on a new pitching phenom (a youngster who should be full of vitality). didnt you also call jered wewaver a maddux, samo?
