From Rotowire:
Aug 9 Webb (elbow) proclaimed himself pain free and fit to return to the rotation after a bullpen session for Arizona on Tuesday, the East Valley Tribune reports.
Recommendation: According to the report, Webb threw 54 pitches and felt no pain in his first full throwing session since his elbow started barking last week. "No problems. The location was a little bit off, which was to be expected a little bit, since I hadn’t been off the mound in a little bit," Webb said. "We’ll wait and see how it feels (Wednesday). I anticipate it feeling good." Webb, who leads the NL with a 2.74 ERA, is expected to start either Friday or Saturday for Arizona, with new arrival Livan Hernandez getting the other start.
Very happy to hear this about Webb. He's been the single bright spot on a staff that includes Os, Peavy, Sheets and Pettite.
