Adam Dunn...

Postby bazzy_51 » Tue Aug 08, 2006 7:59 pm

sorry could have put this in the last post i had about DLee but i forgot about it...his latest slump (even tho still had 2 runs 2 homers and 4 rbi) over the last week his average, although usually low anyways, was WAY low to the sound of .087...the question here is what is going on with him, i haven't gotten to watch any of his games so i don't know if his swing just isn't there or if hes tweaked something...guy proposed my atkins and burnett for his dunn in a dynasty league so i was just wonderin any thoughts?? or concerns?

Just Adam being Adam ... !+)

Seriously, he was on a .350 BA tear for like a month. The guy's a .250 hitter and IMHO probably always will be. He's gotta go 2 for 23 or .087 to restore order in the universe. :-? Interestingly, his two hits in the miserable last week were both HRs.

But he is 2 for 4 tonite with 3 RBIs. Hope you didn't bench him!

Yep, you just have to expect this from Dunn when you draft him. He is going to strike out more than 160 times (possibly pushing 200). He is going to have a batting average in the .240-.260 range. And he is going to hit 40+ home runs.

With his combination of a good batting eye, terrible contact skills and raw power he's going to be consistant in walking, striking out and hitting home runs. That's what he does...draft him if you want but realize you're either punting average or you'll need to draft some high average hitters to make up for him. I actually have him in one league and I finally had to give in and punt average myself. Not even Ichiro could fix the train wreck that my average has become. ;)
