I dropped Willingham for Estrada last night.
Willingham is just WAY too streaky and his playing time is too inconsistent. Most everybody, including myself, should be using him for his catcher eligibility, as Willingham's numbers are way too mediocre for a fantasy OF. The perk of him having the C/OF eligibility was that he plays almost exclusively OF for the Marlins and hypothetically would play everyday. Though things started out that way this season, lately he's had just as many days off, if not more, than a regular catcher. For someone with a .257 batting average, 16 home runs or not, it just wasn't worth it.
FWIW, prior to the "5 HR in 4 days" explosion, Willingham was just 6 for 41 since the All-Star break (.146 BA). In three games since the 5 HR, Willingham has gone 1 for 11 (.090 BA).
