The Cincinnati Reds. They should be your new spot starter magnet team instead of Detroit.
The Tigers are playing slightly less pathetically on offense lately, and the Reds led the league in August for the worst offensive output: 86 runs. There was only one other team with less than 100, the Giants(!). The Tigers? 21st in the majors with 125 runs. Cincy was the worst in OPS that month by 50 points and led the majors in strikeouts. Team record was 10-18. Their team, and specifically their offense, seems to be devastated with the gutting of the team and injuries. Oddly enough, Pittsburgh was gutted too, but was middle of the pack on offense in August.
The starting lineup for yesterday's game:
J Castro SS
T Hummel 3B
D Jimenez 2B
R Branyan 1B
J LaRue C
W Pena CF
S Smitherman LF
E Valent RF
Pitcher
Agreed. Spot starting against Cincy is not a bad idea at all.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Good thought here. I guess I still have a tough time putting a pitcher in against them b/c for so long this year they had a good hitting offense...trades and injuries have really hurt this team. Thanks for point this out! 2 beers for Dice
But don't forget they play there home games in Coors East...might be risky....

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.

Lookit that lineup again. D'Angelo Jimenez is the #3 hitter. D'ANGELO JIMENEZ! 11 HR, 45 RBI on the year. Holy Frijoles. And now Sean Casey's hurting too.
They scored 55 runs in 16 home games in August, that's 3.4 runs per game.
I'd spot start against 'em in a little league park.
