I don't know if I should be happy or sad. I have him on my one fantasy baseball keeper league. He is one of my 4 keepers for next year. But my team is a team I took over half season so it's not going to win. But in the league I have been with for 5 plus years now. The guy fighting me for 1st place has him. He has been leaning on Verlander Josh Johnson King Felix an Liriano to get there. Now Liriano goes down it's great new for me. Maybe Verlander an Johnson can crash soon also. I can't see these young guys keeping it up all season long.

What a bonehead move by Gardenhire to run him out there against the Tigers. That may have just cost the Twinkies a spot in the post season.

Guzman24, it's a little hasty to blame the Manager. Liriano missed a turn in the rotation and then the trainers deemed him ready to go and face Detroit Monday. Hindsight is 20/20, buddy. I'm not about to second-guess a manager whose team has been the hottest in baseball over the last two and 1/2 months....

Just received a trade offer for Liriano (a keeper for 5 bucks next year):

The offering team had basically offered me anything I wanted 2 weeks ago now has offered Roger Clemens or Zambrano. Non-keepers, both.
He prefaced his offer saying he will "generously offer.."

I had been planning for a shut down of both Verlander and Liriano at some point, so I am well stocked in SP. The guy offering the trade is out of it, so giving up either player does not matter to him.

I politely declined his offer.

The Twins announcers just said the results of Liriano's MRI "couldn't have better". They said a weakness was found in his shoulder, and that that was causing the pain in the forearm and elbow. Liriano will be on a rehab program to strengthen his shoulder.

The news was a "relief" to Gardenhire and the club, since there was no structural damage to the elbow or shoulder.
