Pitching vs. ex-Teamates: Who has the Advantage?

Brian Anderson (KC) pitches against his old/recent teamates CLE, next week.

This raises a question ... in match-ups of pitchers throwing against their recent ex-teams, who has the advantage? Is it the pitcher because he knows the hitters, or vice versa.

Are there any statistics on this topic?

I think the Pitcher has the advantage. Mostly b/c he likely knows his former teammates' weak spots by sitting in the dugout and talking ball. Just my opinion, no stats here.

No stats, but I'd say Anderson will do well.

As to who generally has the advantage, it depends on who the hitters/pitchers are. Good hitters will know how to hit the pitcher and a good pitcher will know the hitter's weaknesses. Just my opinion.
