Jim Thome hands down. The perennial power hitting allstar who many gave up on in fantasy and also some in real life, came back with probably his most all around year.
Think of Jim Thome's comeback just as Jason Giambi's but on a grander scale. And this is coming from a yankee fan.

I'm going to have to go with Big Hurt. I guarentee that majority of the baseball fans counted frank out saying he's washed up way before thinking that of Thome. And Frank has come out with this type of year when all odds were against him, shows me that he is the comeback player of the year.

Thome could always hit. He was able to move to a league that would baby his body and continued to hit. How is that shocking? Schill was close to being forced into retirement because he underwent a possible career-ending surgery in 2004 just so his team could win postseason games.
Chris Iannetta was born on Krypton and transported to Earth as an infant and saves the universe when he's not getting on base every plate appearance.

I'd agree. Thome had only one injury-ruined season. People have benn counting big Frank out for a couple of years now. To my mind, it's not really a comeback if you've just lost one season to injury. So I'd discount Thome and Schilling.
