Anyone know why he was pulled after 4 IP and only 67 pitches? As long as he's not hurt, I really don't mind if he left early as it looks like he was getting hit hard.
Was this just him getting pulled early, or is there more to it?
He was hit hard.. 10 hits in 4+ innings. His velocity was there and his curve and changeup looked good at times. He was inconsistent... He was just not sharp. According to the Detroit annoucers he left due to being knocked out of the game, not because of injury.
He did strike out 5. I will be interested to see how he responds in his next start. This is typical the time of year my fantasy team pitchers start to crumble.
Thanks for the update. To me, I don't care how bad he got lit up. His value wasn't in tonight's start. His value is the future. As long as he's not hurt, I'm happy.

The tigers baby!!! Theeeyyyy'rrrre grrrrrrrrrreeattt!
Francisco Liriano was bothered by soreness in his left forearm during Monday's loss to the Tigers and might require a DL stint.
"It's a muscular problem -- as the game was going on, he started to feel it," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "We had him checked out before, and everything was fine, but we'll have him checked out again. It's muscles, not his elbow." Regardless, the Twins need to be very careful here. If Liriano tweaks his delivery to compensate, he could end up hurting himself worse. "It started bothering me in the second inning," Liriano said after the game. "It really bothered me. I couldn't throw fastball, changeup, slider or anything." With Liriano likely to miss more time, it now looks like a given that Matt Garza will debut this week. The Twins might also have to bring back Scott Baker. Aug. 7 - 11:38 pm et
