If my C is getting 100 more points than the bottom ranked C (15 team league) then that is a great value as far as the C position goes. There's not that great a differential in alot of the other positions, therefore I'll be keeping VMart again for next season.
most leagues are not 15 teams, and i believe most are not points leagues either.
Ok,,,during my draft someone drafted V-Mart in the 3rd round,,and Boasted that he got him,,(He was one of MY GUYS)--i said ok,,waited till round 8 and drafted Joe Mauer--he's in 5th place me 1st-,,and in that 3rd round after V-Mart went i took Halladay..Winner Me.
I would never reach for a C even if it was V Mart. I have him on my one team but I didn't draft him he was on there when I took over the dead team. But in my other league I waited late grabed AJ from the CWS. Then waited till Kevin Mench got really hot. Then traded him to a guy who had McCann when he was on the DL still. So ever since McCann got back off the DL I have been sitting pretty with my C spot. Plus he can be kept as a minor league keeper in my league which makes it an even better trade.

There is no real difference between the 12th ranked C or the 15th ranked C, however the difference between Vmart and the 12th ranked C is still huge, bigger than the difference between the top 5 1B and the 12th ranked 1B.
And there should be more points leagues (h2h) because they are more fun, i've done many many yahoo h2h category leagues, however none are as exciting as my main h2h points league. No comparison.
Many bought in to the "he'll be so much better than the other Cs" hype and thus they overpaid. That's one reason why you don't consider position (very much and other than pitchers) with your first couple to few picks (depending on strategy). In early rounds it's about which player is most likely to put up the best stats regardless of where they play.
2nd in Runs, 5th in HR (should get a bump), 2nd in RBI, 5thish in AVG, 6thish in OPS making for currently the 2nd most valuable catcher makes VMart as the first catcher picked a good choice, but in a later round.

Basically all you're saying is to either go early or wait for the last round.
Hey guys, anyone remember the MIKE PIAZZA days?
