I'm posting this after reading your post and checking info on Edison.

Rotoworld
Triple-A Oklahoma's Edinson Volquez was placed on the seven-day disabled list with slight right elbow tendinitis and a calf strain.

Yeah I was trying to figure this out as well. I thought I had just heard that were trying to be careful with him. New ownership has dubbed him a key to their success down the road. Not really sure where you got the idea he was starting. Unless he miraculously is allowed to be activated 5 days early.

yep, that had me wondering too. perhaps the minor league DL rules do not apply when brought up to the mlb

but none the less, the radio announcers said it, there is an article on the website saying it, and on their main page his picture is up as tomorrow's starter.

he will be out there.

for anyone intersted, his minor league stats are a 3.21 ERA in 120.2 innings.

130 strikeouts, 86 hits (nice), 72 walks (less nice)

Its only the walks that have stopped him from being dominant in the AAA, and thats strange because in previous years his control wasnt much of a problem.

Cool, nice heads up. Always good to get some inside info. ;-D

The matchup is against the A's too. His chance to shine if he does start.

A lot of scouts see him as more of a closer than a starter.
Chris Iannetta was born on Krypton and transported to Earth as an infant and saves the universe when he's not getting on base every plate appearance.

The Rangers recalled RHP Edinson Volquez from Triple-A Oklahoma and optioned LHP John Koronka to Oklahoma. Volquez figures to serves as the No. 5 starter down the stretch for the contending Rangers.

Nice...looks like he'll stick

he has given up 3 runs through 3 with 4 strikeouts. his changeup has been dominating.

i dont think theyve made contact with a changeup.

just a fastball up and in the middle of the plate got hit out to burn him.

so its not like i would pick him up for fantasy, but i like what i see outside of the runs allowed, which are obviously a big deal.
