First Kazmir, then Webb, now Carpenter?!?

Aug 5 Carpenter's thumb was hit hard by a sixth inning grounder Friday, the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports.

Recommendation: Carpenter was x-rayed after the game and nothing was broken, but a bruised thumb on his pitching hand is nothing to sneeze at. Stay tuned.

Jeez, what the heck is it with my pitching staff this past week?

From Rotoworld-Aug. 5 - 7:42 pm et
Chris Carpenter's bruised right thumb improved overnight, so he expects to make his next scheduled start.

Carpenter is due to pitch Wednesday against the Reds. He felt as if he could have thrown today. "That's how good it feels," Carpenter said. "It's still swollen and it's definitely got a bruise, but I can squeeze and move it and do all of my normal stuff. So I'm excited about it."

I guess Wednesday we'll see if this will be a lingering problem.

I have to know tonight whether to put him into my weekly lineup. I'd probably replace him with Jason Jennings if I don;t out him in.

Latest updates on Webb and Kaz have them going this Fri, w/Kaz being taken off the DL on Tues. Awesome news.

No new updates on Carp, but he is still slated to make his next start according to the yahoo! lineup.
