I think Carpenter will win it before Zambrano does. He has an ERA near 3, which he can bring back under with a good start, and is only 2 behind Zambrano for W's. I'm guessing down the stretch, Carpenter wins more games than Zambrano. But both of these guys are 2nd to Webb ATM.
To whoever mentioned Zambrano's HR's...that can be considered for an MVP award, not a Cy Young award.

I agree. Zambrano has walked a ton of guys, and that has to catch up to him sooner or later. Webb, unless he's hurt worse than they're saying, should win it.
It could be a long shot, but if this guy gets up to 17 or 18 wins, and his team goes to the playoffs, this guy could be the Cy Young winner in the NL. Now, he would be winning this award because of the wins and the playoff team, not because he is the best pitcher in the NL(kind of like Carpenter over Clemens last year, because of the wins)
This guys name is none other that Aaron Harang. Now his #'s aren't the greatest in the NL, but he has an above average ERA, and an average WHIP, but very high K's per 9. If he continues to pitch the way he has been, and his team continues to be hot, his name should be at least mentioned in the race because of the number of wins he would accumulate during that stretch that could get him close to 20
Another dark horse candidate could be Pedro, but its doubtful because of the Mets 6 man rotation and his very few wins
