Chipper is expected to come off the DL on Aug. 13th. He took batting practice yesterday and said that his oblique held up, so he will come off the DL on the 13th as long his oblique continues to recover.

LOL.

If Chipper actually said: "My oblique held up" I think it is time to get seriously worried.

In a rehab game tonight for Double A Mississippi, Chipper Jones went 0-4 with one strikeout while playing third base. He will play in another rehab game Saturday and hopes to play Sunday for the Braves.

In his second rehab game for Double A Mississippi before rejoining the Braves on Sunday, Chipper went 1-2 with a run scored and a strikeout. He played 4 innings at third base before being replaced. (Not surprisingly, he also committed an defensive error.)

From CBS Sportsline:

News: Braves infielder Willy Aybar is headed for the DL with a broken bone in his left hand. Pete Orr started at third base Saturday, holding down the spot for one game until starter Chipper Jones is activated from the 15-day DL on Sunday. Jones was finishing off a rehab stint at Double-A Mississippi.

Analysis: Watch Jones in his return Sunday before you get him active in Fantasy Week 20 (Aug. 14-20).

Picking up where he left off... 4/5, 3 HR, 5 RBI tonight. ;-D

Never thought I'd like a strained oblique so much.

Somewhere there's at least one guy kicking himself because he didn't activate Chipper in time for this game. What a line! Between him and Jeter on my team, my H2H week is off to a good start :-)
