I was checking some of the team stats.
The Braves have scored 781 runs (as of 9/3/03)
The Dodgers have scored 478 runs
The Braves have scored 303 more runs!!!
however
The Braves have allowed 635 runs
The Dodgers have allowed 457 runs
The Braves have allowed 178 more runs. So much for the vaunted Braves pitching.

They say pitching wins, but if you look at these numbers, its a little overrated. What has some meaning is the run differential. Braves 781- 635 = + 146. LA 478 - 457 = + 23. Maddux is old and declining, Glavines gone, Smoltz no longer starts, Millwoods gone.
