thome needs 2 more games at 1B to gain eligibility for yahoo leagues

And don't count him out on getting them. It's not likely but if something happened to Konerko that prevented him from playing the field for a few days but wasn't bad enough to keep him from DH'ing then Thome would almost certainly play first base. It's a bit of a long shot but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I don't see him getting them either. Ozzie won't risk injuring Thome while Konerko can play there.

Exactly. It's not out of the question but it would definitely have to involve an injury that forced Konerko out of the field but not out of the lineup. If Konerko actually got knocked out of the lineup I think Thome would still DH and a Util guy would slide to first base.
