Dunn's eligibility in '07

Postby klvrdude » Thu Aug 03, 2006 9:04 pm

Is anyone else concerned that Dunn will lose his 1b yahoo eligibility next year? He only has 2 games played @ 1b this year!

If he doesn't renew his 1b eligibility how does that effect his keeper value? I'm interested b/c at 26, almost 27 I think he hasn't peaked yet as crazy as it might sound.

Am I making a mountain out of molehill?

Losing 1B eligibility isn't that big of a deal IMO. There are a ton of 1B...OF is a much scarcer position.

I agree, and he's still playing LF right? LF and RF were shallow in terms of studs going into the draft.

agreed ;-D . there are tons of 1B with 40 HR potential (delgado, konerko, teixeira, pujols, ortiz, thome, berkman, howard, giambi, dlee, sexson) and not so many 40 hr guys in the OF (manny, ajones, beltran, soriano(better used at 2B for now), berkman (qs there too), Lee(never done it before but this might be his year)) By my count thats 11 1B who COULD hit 40 hrs whereas only 5 OF with some sketchy picks like carlos lee who has never done it before...

And don't count him out on getting them. It's not likely but if something happened to Konerko that prevented him from playing the field for a few days but wasn't bad enough to keep him from DH'ing then Thome would almost certainly play first base. It's a bit of a long shot but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

I don't see him getting them either. Ozzie won't risk injuring Thome while Konerko can play there.
