To back ScottyTrav a little bit .. the Weaver deal from the Angels perspective was a no brainer. He was owed way too much money for the production. The only bad thing about that deal for them is that Black's reputation as a good pitching coach (I think he's still one of the best in the game) took a bit of a hit (though the Yankees and Tigers couldn't figure Weaver out either). Even Edmonds wasn't the stud he was his first years in STL before the Angels dealt him. He was a great glove with pretty good to above average offensive numbers.
