I'm a fan of Kubrick, Tarantino, Coppola, Scorsese, and Tim Burton. I'll add Akira Kurosawa.

A lot of people didn't like Ali but IMO Will Smith did a fantastic job in that movie.

I thought it blew chunks... I think Will Smith had better acting on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Tarantino is interested in cutting off an ear - Lynch is interested in the ear.

i dont think the two are really comprable...i have Eraserhead...which is pretty bizarre, but i need to eventually check out Mullholland Drive and Blue Velvet

i also forgot Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Hard Eight, Punch Drunk Love)

I rather enjoyed it. I'm not a boxing historian, so I'm not certain of the accuracy involved, but Smith was amazing. Foxx was also quite dynamic, and seems to be popping up in every Michael Mann film these days.
