I guess it's fair to say that the Orioles patience with him this year is beginning to pay off. The kid is scorching right now. That hot spring training run isn't looking like an accident. He leads the majors in hitting since the end of June with a .400+ AVG. If only he wasn't in the nine slot and there was a bit more power to go with it...

Im an O's fan and have watched him all year. The big difference is that now he really feels like he belongs. His power has been coming around lately, though it will never be great. If they move him to the #2 spot in the order i would consider picking him up as my #3 OF in my deep mixed league. As of now, its just a high average and nothing else

yeah also an Os fan here. Markakis' slugging percentage has steadily increased month by month (.288,.328,.400,.558) so it wouldnt be out of the realm of statistical possibilities to expect some Hrs to come. I'm excited about his progression and picked him up in my 16 team league...

Yeah I picked him up when he got called up. So I've waited a long time for him to come around and actually do something. I imagine at some point he will hit quite a bit more Hrs, but right now he is still developing obviously. Much different than a Carlos Quentin type.

wow bold move holding on to him for the whole season. I knew the potential was there but it was pretty obvious that he was being rushed. Congrats now that its finally paying off, i just hope his terrible first half didnt hut you too much
