I may have sewn up my league with my last trade, and just over the half way point I look at my team now and compare it to the one that I started with and think WOW! I did a pretty good job in assembling a team for today, rather than a rookie squad for the future. After my draft, I realized I "Gregged" my draft (A term named after a friend who is notorious for his love of rookies and will overpay just so he can claim he "found" them.) Here is a side by side comparison of what I started the seson with and what it looks like now. 5x5 AL only keeper league (3yr contracts) 11 teams. *=06 contract, expiring at seasons end.
Currently in 2nd place with 71.5pts and 9.5 behind the 1st place team. AVG(8pts) HR(2) RBI(3.5) R(5) NSB(7) W(11) K(11) ERA (11) WHIP(11) SV(2)

Drafted Current

CO:Shea Hillenbrand(14) CO: Chone Figgins(10*)
2B: Ian Kinsler(11) 2B: Luis Castillo(3)
SS Michael Young(39) SS: Michael Young (39)

P: Rafael Soriano(2) P: Rafael Soriano(2)

I think I did well and I managed to get a couple nice keepers for next year aside from picking up guys that are done at the end of the year. (Special thank to the in between guys that I picked up or traded for to help make this team. Doug Mirabelli, Hank Blalock, Dan Haren, K-Rod, Hank Blalock, Emil Brown, Julio Lugo, George Sherrill, Jon Lester, Scot Proctor, Justin Speier, & Kurt Birkins.)

I guess I am looking for roto affirmation that I can win this thing with a team like this. Since I figured I would be a cellar dweller with the team I drafted.
Thanks
WHIR

Thanks, but I no longer own them. The first player is what I drafted next to him is what I currently own.

I dealt Johnson, Kinsler, Markakis, Kubel and Lester to a team that ws tanking it for the season and wanted to rebuild for Giambi, Lugo, Wells, Brown and Timlin.

I dont understand why Oakland demoted Johnson. Sure he had abyssmal first 2 months but he was batting .291 the last month before his demotion. Johnson is just the guy holding the 1B spot for Daric Barton, so he was a short term guy.

Thanks for the feedback.
