Next thing you know, everyone will be amazed by his calm eyes. But I don't think that comes until after a couple of WS rings.

agreed and it's for this point that id take Wright over MCab. Wright can easily be shown as the face of a franchise, he knows exactly what to say to the media and seems to adore the attention without letting it get to his head. He is not only the face of the Mets but during the AS break was basically the face of baseball.
He is a great player on the field and a great person off, this will bring in more fans and generate more revenue.
Cabrera without a doubt. Wright gets blown up a little because of the whole NY, handsome and wholesome boy next door factor.
I do agree that Wright seems to have better work ethic and attitude (although I'm not sure how we can truly know without being around them a lot). But Cabrera has the kind of bat control that comes around only a couple times every generation.
If Wright was in the same situation (losing team, rookie pitcher) and was called out in the middle of the game, I think its very likely he would've done something similar to what Cabrera did with Olsen.
It is very close, but I would take Mcab due to his better offensive potential over Wright and his great work ethic. I would have no problem with either as my cornerstone player, but I would lean more towards the possible offensive powerhouse in Cabrera.

Not sure that Cabrera is a "better player" right now, not overall defensively. He has a better AVG and OBP, but Wright is still batting .307 and has more HR and RBI. Wright will be the better fielder.
Cabrera does still have people like Hanley, Uggla, and Jacobs batting ahead of him, that is no Reyes, LoDuca, Beltran, but it isn't garbage either statwise this season.
