My hitters hit actually swung the bat well tonight, after 3 awful nights in a row, but there are no production numbers to go with the high average. For the week:
50-192, .260, 26 RS, 5 HR, 19 RBI (this follows a 63-RBI week last week, naturally)
SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, P SP: J. Santana, C. Zambrano, F. Liriano, J. Beckett, B. Penny, C.C. Sabathia, B. Myers
RP: J. Nathan, B. Wickman, A. Benitez, F. Carmona, J. Speier, J. Rincon
Carmona has bombed my ERA this week, but the starters have contributed as well (4 starters over 6.00 ERA this week):
6.22 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, 3-4, 2 SV, 46 K (the only bright spot)
ok, mike smith (who?) is pitching sunday and liriano is going monday, this according to the official twins site...
mike smith, according to their website:
Scouting Report:
Smith makes his return to the Major Leagues after a brief stint with the Blue Jays in 2002. The Twins selected his contract from Triple-A Rochester, where he was 9-4 with a 3.52 ERA in 23 games (19 starts). Of one of the highlights of his most recent tour in the Majors, Smith said, "I struck out Alex Rodriguez a couple times."
