the guy is batting .192.... thats pretty horrible. i was very surprised when the dodgers made this trade. it created a problem of too many infielders when kent and nomar got back. and they had just traded cesar izturis who was in the exact same situation that lugo finds himself in. as far as batting order... the dodgers have three different legitimate leadoff hitters in furcal, lofton, and lugo. however, lofton and furcal have been on fire.. and the third spot is usually reserved for one of, if not the best hitters on your team (pujols, thome, mauer all bat in the three slot) so he doesnt really fit there. nomar is ideal.. but drew will have to do for now. kent is, as vin scully put it, the "butter and eggs guy" so he has to bat cleanup under normal circumstance. with how ethier has been swinging it, he serves as good protection for kent.. something i couldnt see lugo doing anyways... then the 6th slot is usually someone with decent power.. so between betemit and lugo, wilsons got the better average at this point. quite honestly, i think with how lugo has been hitting, he needs to be in the 8 hole, behind russell martin.
PS, Kent looks very good tonight.. 2for2 with a double and a HR and 3RBIs.
