I would gues it'll last just till nomar and/or kent come off the dl...then they'll probably want to move him to #2 and drop lofton down in the order...pure speculation but seems to make a lot of sense to me...

Gonna be nice to see him get 2B eligibility. Anyone think he can take Kent's job away, or will he go into a SS-2B platoon? I'm hoping he nails the 2B job down, his recent performance has been stellar and I'd like him in my lineup every day!

the only way he's taking kent's job is if kent's injury is more serious than we think, or if nomar stays on the dl, then they've talked about moving kent to 1B and keeping Lugo at 2B...

Furcal has SS and the leadoff spot nailed down. Something extreme would have to happen for Lugo to steal any ABs from him. Furcal is a big 2nd half guy and appears to have caught fire in the last week or so.

Furcal presumably could play 3B, but the Dodgers aren't paying him big money to do that and they brought in Betemit with the intention of starting him full-time.

In the unlikely scenario that both Kent and Garciaparra come back soon and stay healthy, could Lugo play some OF? He saw a little bit of time at all 3 OF spots back in Houston.

i've heard that thrown around in the media... as a dodger fan, i think it'd be great to use him to as if/of utility guy to keep lofton, kent, drew, and garciaparra fresh and (hopefully) healthy...that'd keep him in the lineup everyday, but do you think he could keep up his offensive #'s if he was switching around that much on defense?

When is Kent coming back? Also, assuming Kent is healthy he will be in the lineup correct? Nomar played 34 games at 3B for the Cubs last year, has this been mentioned as a resolution?

He needs to start 5 games at 2B or play a total of 10 - he was at 2B last night, and I believe that was the 1st game there. Providing Kent doesn't come back, he may be 2B eligible in a week.
