With the playoffs starting, and the '03 season drawing to a close, a little reflection or success stories, hell even lessons learned is always healthy. Things Like ... "in '04 I will let some other dipchit draft Adam Dunn." Or" Jaun Pierre just may worth a first round draft pick" .. :-)

Just one of my Success Stories this season is ....(I hope to share more :-))

The San Diego Padres ..

Well my Padres anyways ....
My Fantasy Real Team Keeper league.
NL Only 7x7 H2H ...
I started this team on March 31st '03 with the San Diego Padres opening day roster .. :-t :-t
And now ... a first round bye. ;-D ;-D ;-D

I learned an important lesson: if you win a league by far one year, and are in a full-keeper league, you might still end up competing for a 5th place finish the year after.

If you have Guerrero, Schilling injured for parts of the season, Benitez lose his job, lose Nen for the season and Lieber, too

Yes doctor, I am sick.
Sick of those who are spineless.
Sick of those who feel self-entitled.
Sick of those who are hypocrites.
Yes doctor, an army is forming.
Yes doctor, there will be a war.
Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

I'm learning an annoying lesson. If you dominate a league with your friends, they all gang up on you (trade everyone to one team/ drop their team for the Tigers so their AVG goes down, giving the 2nd place guy a point). Next time, we'll need to lay out the rules better and have a longer and better veto system.

The trade that screwed me: Clemens, Ichiro, Furcal, Soriano for Schmidt, Prior, Giambi, Bonds, Boone, Gagne (4-team league)

I was up 7 points 2 weeks ago and now after they ganged up on me, I'll be down at least 1 point tomorrow. Its too bad its a roto league, b/c if it was H2H it would be harder for them to screw me over. :-C

I know how you feel, blankman ... In my five-team roto league they're doing the same to try to wrest me out of first place in the same way. One guy traded Sheffield to the second-place team for Melvin Mora (post-injury) and Jamie Moyer. :-C

It sucks doesn't it? :-C

But at least you didn't see 6, count them, 6, stars go to one team for nothing. :-/

LOL :-D

In a 4 team league, those 6 stars shouldn't really make that huge of a difference...Most teams should be stacked.

You'd be surprised the effect it had. Since its roto, the team that had the 6 guys, moved down in every category without them, allowing the guy who got the 6 to move up in almost every category.

Now instead of all 4 teams being stacked, mine is stacked, the guy who got the 6 is insanely stacked, the guy who traded the six is half-way decent and the other team sucks- why? he dropped most of his offense and filled it with Tigers as a joke, except its hurting me b/c it allows the other guy to move up in average. :-C
