Anyways, the topic is self-explanitory, but I'd like to see what you guys think of MCab in the future? This season, I think he's done okay, but the lack of power is wierd to me. 16 HRs so far. However, he has lowered down his strikeouts, and seems to have more patience at the plate, resulting in more walks.
Assuming in a keeper, where does he rank among hitters?
He's up there all right, but not as high as #3. Maybe more in the #10-12 range. Yanks04 listed some guys i'd love to have over him. Remember, just because it's a keeper doesn't mean every guy you keep has to be 22 years old.
He's what? 4 years younger than Pujols, 8 years younger than AROD, 1 1/2 years younger than Wright and already a superstar. Add consistent production for the next 15-18 years and he outproduces all others as current keepers. Put MCab on a better team and he outproduces Wright even more. He's #1. I really don't see much argument.

Keeper leagues have about a 3-5 year horizon. No one cares about 10 years down the road as by then either the league is dissolved or it has been re-balanced a few times over. As Thursday alluded to, there is nothing wrong with keeping Manny Ramirez types in a keeper league. And I much rather have Manny ove rthe next 3 seasons than MCab.
