Hmmm, defining "Most Valuable."

One way to look at it --if you had A-Rod on your team:

Would you trade A-Rod for Boone? No.
Would you trade A-Rod for Ichiro? No.
Would you trade A-Rod for Giambi? No.
Would you trade A-Rod for Delgado? No.
Would you trade A-Rod for Roy Halladay? No.

If you'd rather have A-Rod on your team than any other player in the league, he's the Most Valuable Player.
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'

How did Pujols get slipped into the AL MVP discussion? I don't think he's on the AL ballot. :-)

Delgado 27 win shares
Arod 27
Giambi 26
Boone 25
Nomar 24

Thats the top 5. As you can see, its a toss up. Who would i vote for? Ask me in a month.

I agree. The AL is still too close to call right now.
