I disagree. They've been out of contention all year so if people weren't going to go, they wouldn't have thus far. If they then traded their biggest draw then attendance would certainly go down.

Now, I agree they should have moved him, but they were in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If they keep him, obviously they get killed, but if they had traded him for "less than value" they still would've gotten killed. I admire the Nats for sticking to their asking price today....the mistake was made months ago trading for the guy in the first place.

Agreed, good post. If they knew they didn't have a realistic shot at contending Soriano was a stupid move.

I still think he gets dealt in a deal. DFA most likely.

If he gets dealt it's through waivers. He's not going to be DFA. :-?

No one is going to give what he's worth if he's DFA, and if they don't get what they want he goes for nothing. There's no way in hell he's DFA...I really can't believe this was even brought up.
