rotoworld:Reds acquired RHP Kyle Lohse from the Twins for RHP Zach Ward.
Reds GM Wayne Krivsky dials up his old team once again. Lohse isn't such a bad pickup. As a National Leaguer, there's a chance he could be a reasonable fifth starter over the rest of the season. The Reds could give him a start Saturday and let Brandon Claussen (shoulder) continue to rehab in the minors. A healthy Claussen would be the better bet for the rest of the year, but the Reds don't know if they'll have one of them. Lohse can probably be left unowned in NL-only leagues for now.

It's Garza time!
Chris Iannetta was born on Krypton and transported to Earth as an infant and saves the universe when he's not getting on base every plate appearance.

It should be Durbin time before its Garza time. Lohse was pitching in the pen before the trade.

Not so fast, Loshe was rarely starting anyway and the Twins have had success letting their stud prospects develop in the bullpen.

True, but Gardenhire has been hinting about Garza for a while now, so the chances aren't zero that we see him sometime this month. Maybe they would bring him up as a reliever to limit his workload, but I think they want to hold off on bringing him up if they can. It may depend on how Silva and Baker pitch down the stretch and whether or not the Twins acquire another starter via trade and probably won't be a result of this trade.
Rheal Cormier was also part of the deal to the Reds and he is a decent situational reliever. It may be possible he will be the better pickup between him and Lohse. Lohse has been pretty good in July as a reliever. I wouldn't be anywhere near as confident about him as a starter though.

The Reds made 2 seperate deals. 1 with the Twins for Lohse and 1 with the Phillies for Cormier.

I don't konw if the Lohse deal is that good for the Reds. They gave up a decent pitchign prospect for a mediocre at best pitcher.
