I picked him up, is he worth starting this week? Does he have the job? I figure with Turn-blow blowing another save opportunity (how terrible is he now), Cordero was going to get every shot to win the job.
Thoughts? My other option is Fausto Carmona, who did an excellent job BLOWING that game as well yesterday.
WHIR for sure!

From the Closer blog - Insidepitch.com
Francisco Cordero to co-closer
Derrick Turnbow to co-closer
Dan Kolb still 2nd in line
Turnbow was pulled from a save opportunity yesterday after allowing a HR and 2 walks around getting 2 outs. Cordero got the final out in a 1 run game to record his first NL save.
Manager Ned Yost announced after the Carlos Lee deal on Friday that Turnbow was still his closer and the all-star responded converting a save on Saturday. However, his struggles returned yesterday and Cordero now has to be close to taking over as the closer here. Yost has shown incredible patience sticking with Turnbow, but the Brewers now have a proven closer on the roster in Cordero as an alternative.
