Pujols, ARod, and Bonds are all locks to go ahead of him, and I would also take Helton, Nomar, and Vlad ahead of him. People who want pitchers in round 1 also might go with Pedro, Prior or Schilling before Soriano.
I agree with you on everyone except Vlad. His back worries me. This types of injuries are chronic and never really heal.

Add to the fact that he swings so hard, putting even more strain on his back.
But if he was sitting there in the 2nd round I wouldn't think twice about nabbing him.
Oh, without a doubt. I might even take him very late in the first round. Just not before Soriano.

The other thing to remember with Vlad is he probably will be somewhere other than the Expos next year. If he winds up in a great lineup like Yankees or Red Sox, he could be an absolute fantasy monster next year. Risk or not, if he goes to the Yankees, he is a top 5 pick next year.
know what the SCARIEST thing is about vlad? the fact that he missed over 7 weeks of the season and still has a legitimate shot at 30 dongs this season.
But don't diss Vlad. Vlad wasn't bad. Vlad was awesome. He just suffered the very 1st major injury of his career....If his steal #'s come back up next year you can make a good case for drafting him ahead of Pujols.
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.

Vlad will never be a Yankee or a Met. He will never play in New York - he's too low key.
There are some people even the Yankees cannot bribe, I mean buy.

Tell that to old George and he'd buy Vlad just to spite you. Lol.
