Nixon's scheduled to have an MRI this morning, but its very likely he'll miss at least a few days, if not hit the DL. Unfortunately, if your league is like mine, you probably won't hear before the lineup deadline (12:30 for me).

This might be the time Wily Mo gets a chance to show what he's got. I'd take the chance with him if you have an open slot.

WMP will have more fantasy value than Trot this week.

Bank it.

I'm questioning the status of Nixon myself, however with the deadline only less than 3 hours away does anyone still see Nixon possibly getting dealt?

During the post trade deadline press conference with Theo, it was mentioned that Nixon would be out approximately three weeks or so with a strained bicep muscle.

What do you guys project Wily Mo doing for the next few weeks?

Recommendation: Nixon's injury could really change the Red Sox's trading plans before Monday's deadline. "It didn't look very good," said Red Sox manager Terry Francona. "It's his right biceps and it's been bothering him on and off since Minnesota [in mid-June]. Hopefully, we can determine whether it's a couple of days or whether it's a DL. I don't think we're gonna know until he gets MRI'd."

Jul 31 CBS4 Boston reports the Boston Red Sox placed OF Trot Nixon (biceps) on the 15-day disabled list Monday, July 31.

15-day DL as of Jul 31, 2006 (Strained right biceps)
