After losing their last 2 to Atlanta, the Pirates are 9 out now. Still, they were 7 out just a couple days ago, despite the firesale.
As it is, they might play a part in the NL pennant race with 7 of their final 10 games against the Cubs.
If it comes down to that, I'll be rooting for Pittsburgh to knock them off. Trade them 3 starters (Lofton, Ramirez, Simon), then knock them out of the playoff race!
