According to rotowire and cbssportsline, they say Baez is gonna be the set up man, and his situation is not going to be different from that when he was with the Dodgers.


Where did you hear about him closing Brunno?

it has been noted a few times baez prefers the setup role and is better suited for it...plus they have wicky, but i'm sure he will get the occasional save...setup man overall thou

seriously man.. some people might have actually believed you..

no way they'd put baez there when they just got wickman..

you scared me for a bit.. thought wickman got injured or something like that

Well really, I'd say Baez is better than Wickman... so when Wickman blows a save or two, which will happen, I wouldn;t be surprised if they gave Baez a shot.

I believe I read that Wickman was nearly traded to another team but he nixed it because the team couldn't promise him the closers job and Atlanta was able to do that. It would be pretty disingenuinous for Atlanta to make him that promise and then go out and get someone else to close.
