Jul 31 ESPNews reports St. Louis Cardinals 1B Albert Pujols (elbow) will have an MRI on his hyperextended right elbow today. It's the same elbow that he tore three years ago and was unable to throw for the rest of the year.

That is a bunch of crap. Pujols had the best year of his career three years ago.

Prior to this season he has ever had less than 590 Abs in a year, nor was he ever on the DL.

This is NOT a bunch of crap. The notice doesn't say Pujols missed at-bats or went on the DL. It says he had problems throwing.

The Sporting News, June 2003:
"Pujols has played much of the season with a right elbow so damaged that a hard throw could cost him several months, if not the season. The elbow problem limits only his throwing and does not hinder his swing. The team is hopeful there won't be many game-turning plays that will require a throw from Pujols. In the meantime, center fielder Jim Edmonds shouts reminders at Pujols, telling him not to overthrow."
