Alright, so I've played Bass, Guitar, and Keyboard/Piano for awhile now and I've written close to 20 songs. I've been eager to record them, but as a perfectionist, I want to do the mixing, the meshing, and the organizing on my own, kinda like Boston -- although I promise more than one album every eight years.
So...I'm wondering what the best software and hardware for recording on my computer. Right now I'd just like to be able to record my guitar, bass, and any sounds from the keyboard I can emulate, though in the future I may want to record the Hammond I have in my living room as well as the drumset, but that's not of immediate need.
I use a Fujitsu Lifebook computer...Windows XP, Intel(R) Pentium(R) M Processor, have an external harddrive. 1.80 GHz, 593 MHz, 504 MB Ram.
