Who is the best player of our generation(i.e last 6 years)
These are my suggestions-
Pujols,Jeter A.Rodriguez,I.Rodriguez,Sheffield,Randy Johnson,Ramirez,Clemens,Schilling,Bonds,Thomas,to name a few.Can you comment on these and can you give more suggestions to the list.

if you're talking last 6 years (2001 - 2006), you can't really throw thomas in there, although he's my favorite player. bonds/pudge/sheff have all been linked with roids, so i think that takes away from their status. although i love pujols more, i think it has to go to arod for his added defensive and base-running skills (although pujols had almost as many sb last year).

The last 6 years and our generation are different questions. Over the last 6 years you could add guys like Ortiz and Santana. Over the generation you could add guys like Piazza, Bagwell, Griffey, and Sosa.

Clemens was the first person that came to mind. All the Cy Young awards, the triple crowns, MVP's and he's a World Series champ. I honestly cannot think of a more complete player from my era. The steroid issue aside for Bonds, the lack of a title places him behind Rocket, IMO.

Since when is six years a generation? The best pitcher of this generation say 1980-2006 is clemens. (pedro had the best peak, but clemens had the better career).

The best hitter (besides bonds, and the others suspected of riods) would for the moument probabley be griffey (not the clear favorite) who is soon to be surpassed by Pujols.

That depends on who you ask. I'd rather have Pedro over Clemens. Martinez has a better era and whip. Sure Clemens has the awards and one more World Series Ring, but Clemens is also 8 more years in the bigs. Gotta tip your hat to the 4500 K's and the 300 wins.

Gotta throw Todd Helton in the conversation. Sure he's lost some of his flare these days, but remember back to 3-4 years ago and you could make a case for him being the best hitter in the game. sure, Coors helped... but not that much. Remember when Helton had an actual shot at hitting .400?
