except that Mike Schmidt hit 40 homeruns 3 times, if memory serves me correctly. But whatever. My interest in this topic grows thin.

on a side note i do belive that Gordon has the POTENIAL to hit for more power than Chavez, who has never hit forty homeruns.

He hit 40 3 times but also hit 35 11 times, and had 31 through 102 games in a short season (strike year). Mike Schmidt is a very lofty projection for ANY 3B... :-°

yeah i didnt mean 40 exactly for 10 yrs every year...but im sure his avg per year is that high
