Just curious, but has anyone here at the Cafe had the opportunity to view the new Miami Vice film? It opened this weekend to mixed reviews, and though I plan on seeing it regardless, I just wanted to see what the Cafe thought of the movie.
I was supposed to see it tonight, but things didn't come together. I don't think it is going to be that good, but I hope I'm wrong. From what I've read, this is supposed to be a somewhat dark movie. I just hope it's not stuffed full of special effects.
I saw it last night and really enjoyed it. Keep in mind that this is a drama and not an action movie. There wasn't a lot of action, but what action there was, was extremely violent and very well done... as is the case in all Michael Mann's movies. In other words, if you're expecting it to be like "Bad Boys", don't bother seeing it.
I give it a good solid B which might go up to a B+ after I watch it again. It was definitely good enough for me to buy on DVD.
WORST MOVIE EVER!!! I almost walked out and asked for my money back. No Character development, random sex scenes, lack of action, HORRIBLE camera angles, no ending or beginning. I felt like a retard after the 1st hour because I had no idea what was going on. I turned to my friends, and asked what was happening and none of them knew. Waste of $9 bucks. I felt dumber after I left the theater.
