What do you see his role as in Milwaukee? Closer? I know he blew a Save in his last chance but that was against the Yankees and he doesn't have to face them any longer.

I doubt they put him as closer when he has proven that this year he's incapable of closing

I think the Brewers got Cordero with the intentions of making him their closer. Turnbow has been shaky at best this season, and last year was his first year as a closer, so he didn't really have a track record. I don't think the Brewers would trade for a set-up guy making $4mil a year.

I'm not bullish on Cordero one bit.. but as the adage goes "if you need saves that bad..." Granted Turnbow has been horrible lately, I don't think Cordero is the answer, showing this year his stuff/mechanics/mental just isn't cut out for closing anymore.. We'll see if he can get things turned around in the NL. Who knows, he might be able to fool the NL guys who haven't seen him..

I tend to think he'll be Milwaukee's Closer, too. True he hasn't done well in that role up to this point but maybe he can turn that around. I think he can. We'll see.

Aside from the NYY blow-up, he's been solid recently, plus, the MIL bullpen has been awful...I would be astonished if he's not immediately inserted as closer, and I bet he'll be decent in the role.

Aside from the beating by the Yanks the other night, Cordero has allowed only 1 ER in his past 12 appearances.

He's turned it around, I think he'll be fine in the NL.

Actually it was a blown save, his 9th of the season.

Regardless he had been very good since losing his closers role in Texas.

He was lights out in June, which isn;t something you normally say about Cordero.

I think he's gunna be good in Milwaukee but as always beware of the WHIP because as far as closers go he is the King of the High WHIP.

With Brad Lidge killing me slowly - I took a chance and grabbed him - if within two weeks he is still sitting on the bench, I'll just drop him and move on - am desperate for saves, and I can't take a chance he'll be grabbed if/when they make him the closer and I am AFK
