Fantasy aside (Wrong board I know), but why on earth did the Brewers make this deal? Sure they're going to lose Lee at the end of the year, but you're telling me that these 3 players were the best on the table?? If I was a Brewers fan I'd be pissed about this, seeing as Cordero is just about as efficient as Turnbow, I mean he gave up 4 runs the other night as a set-up man.. Mind-boggling that this is all the Brewers got for arguably one of the best talents in the game.

I don't think the Brewers had much much leverage here. Other teams certainly realized that the only way that Lee was going to be dealt was if they couldn't get an extension done. The Brewers supposidly offered 4yrs/48mil and were turned down. At that point, he had to be dealt, and eveyone knew it. I wish they could have gotten more, but i don't know if it's realistic for a pending FA.

The other factor is that Melvin wanted Major League players, not minor leaguers. He allegedly had an offer from the Twins involving two AA pitchers, but he made this deal because losing Lee for draft picks wouldn't help the team today AND because he still feels they can compete for a wild card, hence the need for major league players in return.

I'm OK with this deal. I also don't think he's done trading.
