I won't lie, I was hoping for more from Tracy, but he is still delivering within a single standard deviation of what I expected. Not like Tex who is 3 standard deviations below what I would have expected.
Tracy is striking out a lot more this year in what appears to be an attempt to show more power. I would prefer if he just settled in as a .300 hitter with 25 HR, which he is very capable of.
Every single day I think about dropping Tracy. But his numbers are actually quite good. Maybe it's because he plays for the D-backs, or maybe it's because I just plain don't like him, but I swear, I'm never looking when he has a good game.
Tracy seems like he is always 1-4, or 0-4, and then when Ive finally decided to drop him , he`ll get hot for 2 games before Moves Day.
Last Year he had 308. AVG, 27 HR after only 503 ABs.
I think it was pretty reasonable to expect .290, 30 from him with 100+ extra ABs this year. Right now he is only on a pace to get a total of 18 homers. He might get more---but is WAY off last years rate.
The othe guy driving me bonkers is Helton. Believe me, I was not expecting "Todd of the Past"---but I figured he`d hit AT LEAST .300.
He had that torrid streak right before the All-Star break--but is batting sub-200 since then. YIKES!
If Chad Tracy is your biggest disappointment, then you shouldn't be doing that bad, or that upset...he's playing and at least producing around 90% of what was expected. There are higher draft picks out there who haven't been as productive.
yeah i expected 30 hrs and a .300 ave from tracy. I think its reasonable to still expect he'll approach those numbers. The guy is definately a .300 hitter so i do expect his average to go up. It will be hard to get to 30 hrs but i think he'll provide some decent production down the stretch....

You`re right---
I`m doing well , and I`m not so upset.
I`m just frustrated with this particular dude`s production. I picked him up cheap and dont know if I should hang on for next year.
He`s been steady, but a bit low. I was hoping for a more explosive player.
Tex & Tracy for me. King Felix is an honorable mention, but he is turning it around. If there can be any dissapointment in the likes of Miggy C & T, then I have it. Don't get me wrong, I love both players, but where has the power gone? In MCab's case, one can make statement that he is simply not getting THOSE types of pitches to hit, but is so talented that he is still a top-10 player. Miggy T, otoh, has gone into a 2nd half swoon once again.
