What happens when a pending trade goes through at the same time the DL player (Rios) comes of the DL.

Normally, I'd have to drop someone to activate DL player but what happens in this case. Does Yahoo let the trade go through and then I need to drop a player?

You need to get the player off of the DL before the trade is scheduled to go through.

It says "trade will be reflected on the lineup for Sunday, Jul 30." So that means I have to activate Rios by midnight Saturday.

I can only hope Yahoo doesn't update the Rios DL situation until midnight Sunday(Monday morning). This is interesting bc I don't think I've encountered a situation where a trade and the removal of the DL tag occurs on the same day Yahoo makes its changes (Sunday morning).

Curious as to what happens if don't activate Rios b4 changes (trades) are processed Sunday morning at around 4- 6 am.

If trade is not vetoed and passes but Rios is still on my DL without the DL tag, then I won't get the player until I dump someone. Is that how it works?

Hope that wasn't as confusing as it was for me to write.

:-D

Thanks! That means I'd have to propose it again, right?

i would think the logical answer to that question would be that it is some sort of two for one deal that would free up the bench spot for Rios.

Correct!

Do you have another spare player that you can stand to part with temporairly for the trade to go through, and then grab him back - or another decent player - afterwards?

There is a risk if you just wait for the trade to be stopped because you have a non-DL player on the DL... such and an injury, or the other owner not wanting to do the trade after a few more days to think about it.

It's either Kendrick or BMyers.

it's non keeper. Kendrick will get 1B and 3B soon so that's good and he's heating up.

When you make a trade (even for one on the DL) the players are traded into active roster spots. If you are the one receiving Rios (or any player that is on the DL), you will have to receive him into a non-DL position regardless of his health at the time the trade is executed. That means you will have to open up a roster spot to receive him. Once you receive him, you can place him on the DL and then make another move to fill your now vacant active roster spot.
