Say Gil pitch for the first time last night, I was expecting a Glavine finesse like pitcher, but to my suprise he was hitting 96-97 on the gun and had what appeared to be a fairly nasty breaking pitch. He did get touched up yesterday, but I was actually impressed with what I saw.
Couple questions:
1. Any chance he gets moved, there was some speculation earlier in the season, but haven't heard recently.
2. Has he always pitched like this and the K's never came, or has he developed any new pitches this season? His previous season K totals were never that great, but it appears he should be more of a K type pitcher?

I'm not sure if he's going to be moved or not, but he was drawing comparisons to Kevin Brown early in his career. He's always been a power pitcher, and his K/9 rate has been about the same for his career in the 7-7.5 range.

He has never been fully healthy until now, plus the experience he has gained through the last few years = a guy who can now pitch and knows how to pitch
If he can stay healthy I expect pretty good numbers

Until I saw him pitch I didn't want the Mets to get him, but now if they did I would be happy.
There were Met rumors about a month ago, but haven't heard anything recently.
