Ive been wondering the same thing...anyone have info/insight on this?
This is the kind of injury that will linger for the rest of the season. Wth the kind of swing Weeks has, i don't see him play through it. And since the Brewers are not in a playoff hunt... there is no use for them to let him play through pain.
You can drop him safely. I dropped him and picked up Kendrick before someone else find out this terrific talented player.
Aug 1 Updating previous items, the Associated Press' Arnie Stapleton reports injured Milwaukee Brewers 2B Rickie Weeks (wrist) is due to begin hitting off a tee Friday, Aug. 4.

That's what I want to know because I have him and Varitek (who I will probably just drop now) on my team and only 1 DL spot.
Found this on CBS Sportsline today:
"We want to see where he's at," manager Ned Yost said. "He's already taking ground balls." Weeks will be eligible to return on Aug. 9, but the Brewers aren't sure yet whether his wrist will allow it

He has a legit spot if he stays healthy of being the #2 ranked second baseman next year behind Utley. I'd say that's a healthy amount of value in a keeper.
