Brewers placed second baseman Rickie Weeks on the 15-day disabled list with a right wrist tendon injury.
The move opens up a roster spot for David Bell. The Brewers have been quiet about Weeks' injury, only admitting yesterday that he wasn't hurt on the field. "Sitting on the bench waggling the bat," manager Ned Yost said. It's unclear when Weeks might be back. Like his thumb injury from last year, it could be something that lingers. The Brewers will use Jeff Cirillo and Tony Graffanino at second and Bell at third.
Rickie Weeks, 2B, Milwaukee Brewers Sunday 7/30, 11:16 AM CT
Rickie Weeks, placed on the DL Saturday with an injured tendon in his right wrist, could be sidelined for the rest of the season, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "That's a possibility," said general manager Doug Melvin when asked if Weeks had played his last game for the Brewers this year. "We're going to wait 10 days or so to see if it can heal enough and he can tolerate it." Surgery to repair the wrist would result in a recovery period of six to eight weeks, so Weeks could wait until after the season to have the procedure. Tony Graffanino should continue to fill in at second while Weeks is out.

I had not heard that the injury was that serious. Dang. Rickie has been gold for me this year. Now, I'll have to replace him.
I know it's the wrong forum, but does anyone have a preference between Loretta and Kendrick (both are available)? If the trade rumor is true, I like Loretta hitting ahead of Pujols in STL.

Let's wait the 10 days before anyone goes crazy.

YEAH by all means don't drop him yet, this is jsut wat a game announcer said, I didn't mean to make it sound official, it's not official, it's just what I heard the game announcer say.
This is from Yahoo! IS WEEKS DONE FOR THE SEASON??
Jul 30 The Brewers confirmed that Weeks (wrist) will need surgery before next season, according to the team web site.
Recommendation: They still haven't determined if the surgery will be done now or after this season ends. If the soreness in Weeks' wrist goes away then he'll wait until after the season, if he's still in pain after a few weeks then it's likely he'll have season ending surgery. You should try to find a replacement for Weeks for the rest of the season, since it's looking unlikely that he'll be productive.
is this the kind of injury that will make him not so great of a keeper option next season?? or will he bounce back next year, making him a solid keeper still?
